Douglas Baker

Doug Baker has successfully litigated and tried a number of complicated bet-the-company and other disputes involving commercial, product liability, professional liability, insurance coverage, and tort/personal injury cases, representing local to Fortune 500 Companies. Doug has tried cases to verdict in both state and federal courts, as well as administrative proceedings and arbitrations, achieving favorable verdicts or results for his clients, both plaintiffs and defendants. Doug’s honors include his selection and membership in the American College of Trial Lawyers, Chambers USA© as a Rank 1 attorney, Martindale Hubbell as an AV rated attorney for more than twenty years, has been selected as a Lawyer of the Year in Bet the Company cases and Product Liability Litigation by Best Lawyers in America©. He has also been rated as one of the top twenty-five New Mexico lawyers for fifteen years by Super Lawyers.

Born in Montclair, NJ, he grew up in New Jersey and Missouri before going to college and law school at the University of Virginia. He moved to New Mexico after law school and has practiced in New Mexico since then. He loves the state and the outdoors.

In addition to enjoying trying cases, Doug rises before dawn to train for triathlons and has competed in a number of Ironman 70.3 triathlons across the country. He also enjoys woodworking, golf, his children and grandchildren.
